Skladatel: KHANDOSHKIN, Ivan Evstaf'evich ((1746-1804)) |
| Jeho/jej hudba: Mainly music for violin.
Jeho/jej ivot: Russian violinist and composer.
He was a serf, but by order of Prince Potemkin he gained his freedom in 1785.
He was the first composer - not only in Russia - who consequently based himself on folk-music for his compositions. In that respect he is the first 'folklorist' in the history of Western music.
English transliteration of his name: Ivan Evstaf'evich Khandoshkin.
