The declared objective of the baroque orchestra Antichi Strumenti is to familiarize an interested audience with the instrumental music of the Baroque period in all its stylistic diversity including the specialities and peculiarities of individual composers or regions directly basing on the music historical context.
With this intention, the ensemble was founded in 1997 in Frankfurt am Main by the cellist Tobias Bonz, who today is the leader of the orchestra, together with the Violonist, Laura Tofetti. All members of the orchestra play original instruments or their copies.
