Vladimir Genin graduated with distinction in composition from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music by Prof. Roman Ledenev in 1983. He is the Member of Russian Composer's Union and GEMA. Among his principal compositions are several symphony and chamber works, they are performed in Russia, Europe and USA, published by "Internationale Musikverlage Sikorski Hamburg" and released on CDs. The World-Premieres of his instrumentations of Mussorgsky's song cycles, 'Songs and Dances of Death' and 'Sunless', took place under the conductor Valery Gergiev in 1993 in St.-Petersburg with the Kirov-Theather Symphony orchestra and in 1998 in Rotterdam and Brussels with the Rotterdam Philharmonic orchestra and the famous baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky. He composed the original music for the film "The Cosmonaut's Dream" ("Der Brief des Kosmonauten", Germany 2001). Since 1997 he lives in Munich.
